Situation:

• Sometimes, at my discretion, I want to send a Tumblr post to Twitter. Maybe for about 25% of posts.
• Therefore in the Services menu I’ve connected my Twitter account, but with NOT posting to Twitter as the default:
  
• When I create a post in Tumblr, everything behaves itself. I get this set of options, and by default nothing goes to Twitter:
  
• If however I use the “Share on Tumblr” bookmarklet, which I’ve saved to my Opera personal bar
  
  then whether posting to Twitter is turned on or off under Services, the post still gets sent to Twitter.
• When posting from the bookmarklet I’m given these options, which don’t include any setting about posting to Twitter:
  

So far the only way I’ve found to avoid this is to save the post as a draft rather than posting straight away, then go to my Tumblr dashboard to edit the post and untick Send to Twitter. The bookmarklet appears to ignore the Services setting whatever I do.

I’ve tried all the following, with no success:

• switching posting to Twitter on under Services, then posting with the bookmarklet, then switching itoff again, in case the setting wasn’t properly stored and needed redoing
• deleting all tumblr.com cookies from my browser
• logging out from Twitter under Services, then posting with the bookmarklet, then logging in again.

In all cases—except while actually logged out of Twitter—posts get sent to Twitter. Is there any way to get the bookmarklet to respect the setting?

Update

According to Tumblr support, the bookmarklet Advanced tab should include a checkbox for posting to Twitter, rather than appearing as it does above, so they’ve passed the bug on to their development team. Some further information if needed:

• Reinstalling the bookmarklet in Opera 10.63 made no difference.
• The appearance in Firefox 3.6.12 is the same.
